Faridabad Master Plan 2031 key focus of the Faridabad Master Plan is the development of infrastructure and growth of residential, commercial and industrial areas. For the development of the city of Faridabad, a Master plan is prepared. It comprises future development, policies, and implementation directions of Faridabad. The Country and Town Planning of Haryana develops the master plan of the city.
In Faridabad Master Plan 2031, urbanization of areas beyond the east (road approaching Gurgaon), south (village Jharsentli) and southwest of Faridabad. According to the master plan of Faridabad 2011, about 24 km is urbanized towards the western side; further development is not possible because it lies in the Aravali range. The development is also not possible towards the northern region because of the Delhi-Haryana border.

- Residential: A proposal for 600 per person per hectare has been proposed in sectors close to industries. However, only group housing projects will be permitted in sectors like 119, 143 and 146. High density is allocated in sectors 99, 112, 119, 122, 139, 143, 146 and 156 (1125 per hectare).
- Commercial: For commercial purposes, an area of 2069 hectares has been proposed. Commercial land uses have been proposed along sector roads to curb the tendency to convert residential properties into commercial properties. Sectors 100, 120 and 154 have been presented as commercial sectors.
- Industrial: In the development plan, a Gas based thermal plant is accommodated. As there are many industries, sector 13 land is converted from institutional to industrial-cum-institutional.For future development, a width of 60 metres to 120 metres is reserved in the proposed urbanizable area.
