It is a part of the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) and is divided into three sub-divisions: Sadar (Noida), Dadri, and Jewar. The district is headed by a District Magistrate (DM), usually an IAS officer, and is divided into three sub-divisions, each headed by a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
The district is divided into three police zones – Noida, Central Noida, and Greater Noida – consisting of 29 police stations. Greater Noida is a planned city in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
It was created as an extension of the area under the UP Industrial Area Development Act, of 1976, and is administered by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).
The city is situated 30 km (19 mi) southeast of the capital city of New Delhi and is connected to Agra by the six-lane Yamuna Expressway. The annual Indian Grand Prix is held at the Buddh International Circuit. The city is known for its wide roads and service lanes, and connectivity to the rest of the through the Dankaur railway station.
