It is a Group ‘C’ city for living standards and the headquarters of the Barmer Tehsil, Rajasthan. Barmer district in Rajasthan is bordered by Jaisalmer to the north, Jalore to the south, Pali and Jodhpur to the east, and Pakistan to the west.
Several festivals are held in Barmer, most important being the Mallinath Cattle festival, which is held at Tilwara village in remembrance of Rawal Mallinath, who was the founder of Mallani Pargana.
Barmer, a city in Rajasthan, is famous for its historic temples, particularly the Kiradu Temples, and its unique desert landscapes, including the white sand dunes. It’s also known for its cattle fair (Tilwara), camel milk, and handicrafts like carved wooden furniture and hand block printing.
