Wind Map Live - Summary
Wind Map Live is a useful way to check current wind conditions, wind direction, wind speed and forecast wind movement on an interactive map. During severe weather, the same type of map can also help users understand cyclone movement, strong winds, wind gusts and sea conditions.
Windy provides interactive wind and wave maps, India Meteorological Department (IMD) provides official satellite imagery and weather information, while Zoom Earth provides interactive wind-gust forecast maps and weather-model information.
Live weather maps are useful for monitoring conditions, but official warnings from the India Meteorological Department and local authorities should always be followed during severe weather.

How Does a Live Wind Map Work?
Weather maps use data from weather observations and forecasting systems.
Weather stations, satellites, radar systems and other observation networks provide information about the atmosphere. Weather forecast models then process large amounts of data to estimate future weather conditions.
The information is displayed on an interactive map.
When you open a wind map, you can normally:
- Select a location.
- Zoom in or out.
- Select a weather layer.
- Check the current wind.
- Move the timeline forward to see the forecast.
- Compare different areas.
