It will connect Jaitpur village on NH-27 in Gorakhpur district with Salarpur village on the Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh district.
The expressway passes through four districts: Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, and Azamgarh. The project, with a total cost of around ₹5,876 crores, includes the construction of 2 toll plazas, 3 ramp plazas, 7 flyovers, 7 major bridges, 27 minor bridges, 16 vehicular underpasses, 50 light vehicular underpasses, and 35 pedestrian underpasses.
The construction work is divided into two packages, with APCO Infrastructure handling the first package from Jaitpur to Fulwariya and Dilip Buildcon managing the second package from Fulwariya to Salarpur.
As of recent updates, significant progress has been made in land acquisition and construction, with completion expected by December 2023.
