The district lies between 26°47” north latitude and 72°20” east longitude, forming a part of the Kanpur Division. It is shaped like a parallelogram, with dimensions of 70 km from north to south 66 km from east to west on one side, and 24 km on the other side.
Etawah District shares borders with Kannauj and Mainpuri to the north, Agra district to the west, Auraiya to the east, and Jalaun and Bhind districts to the south, with the Chambal and Yamuna rivers marking its boundaries.
