Indri Master Plan 2031 - Summary
The town Indri is situated on the Karnal-Ladwa Road at a distance of about 22 Kilometers from National Highway Number 44, Delhi-Ambala-Amritsar Grand Trunk Road, northeast of Karnal and on the eastern side of the western Jamuna Canal from which the Sirsa Branch starts.
Indri town is flanked by the Western Yamuna Canal in the West, Indri Escape in the North-East, and Mughal Canal in the South. Plenty of potable sub-soil water is available. In addition to, water can be taken from the Western Yamuna Canal. This area is slightly flood prone, but no major flood has occurred in the last 50 years. The population of the town was 2846 in 1961, which increased to 11131 in 1991, 16862 in 2001 and to 19567 in 2011. The projected population 2011- 2021 is 41091 with growth rate 110% and for the year 2031 shall be 86291 with growth rate of 110%.
The overall development plan is proposed to divide the entire development plan area into eight sectors containing various urban land uses like residential, institutional, industrial, commercial etc. The location of these land uses has been fixed according to site conditions, geographical aspect, easy traffic flow, condition of floodability and convenience to the future and the present uses.
