Agriculture and forestry are the primary contributors to the economy of Meghalaya, with a critical parcel of the population locked in these divisions. The state is additionally recognized for its coal saves, limestone deposits, and other minerals. The government is taking measures to advance tourism and encourage the development of industries such as handloom and handicrafts.
