Bijnor is about 40 miles northeast of Meerut and is linked by road and rail with Meerut and Delhi to the southwest as well as with Haridwar.
The city is elevated 225 meters/738 feet above sea level and shares its boundaries with Najibabad, Nagina, Nehtaur, and Chandpur cities. According to the 2011 census, the total population of Bijnor was around 115,381, with a sex ratio of 913 females for every 1000 males and a literacy rate of 70.43%.
The district has a population density of 808 inhabitants per square kilometer (2,090/sq mi). Bijnor is known for its agricultural products and is also noted for thread.
